Dr. Stoops is a dedicated and enthusiastic lifelong learner and educator. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, he attended Slippery Rock University to attain certification in English and Spanish. Having taught both for several years at the high school and middle school level in Virginia and the local area, Dr. Stoops served as an assistant principal and principal at the middle and high school levels as well. He also served in a director capacity with focus in alternative learning, assessment, and curriculum. He completed his doctorate in education from Youngstown State University. His commitment to learning and teaching is evident by his numerous local, state, and national presentations. He is a proud father of two daughters and is likely to be found reading, playing golf, following all things Pittsburgh sports, and walking his rescue dog Lucky at different local locations in his spare time. Dr. Stoops is honored to be part of the CSE - Discovery Center family and welcomes the opportunity to work with families, students, and staff to ensure the most optimum experiences and outcomes for all.
