Yvonne Folmar, Math, graduated from Penn State Behrend earning a B.A. in Communication & Media Studies with a focus in Marketing and a minor in Management Information Systems. During her time at Behrend she discovered she had a unique way with kids through various job shadowing and work-study positions. That led her to obtain her Master of Education from Edinboro University, receiving her certification in Elementary Education. While this is her first year at the Discovery Center, she has 16 years of teaching experience. Prior to coming here, she has taught across the US in the states of Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New York, and Florida—virtually! When she is not teaching, she loves spending time with her two children at home and her Cavapoo puppy. She also enjoys the beautiful lake view across the street from her home, cooking, baking, crafting and reading.
