Attention!
There is now an early dismissal on December 6 for all students at each CSE location.
Students will dismiss at 12:49.
The Charter School of Excellence is committed to supporting the educational process by providing safe transportation for all students. The EMTA provides most of the transportation provided through CSE.
All CSE students must have a district-issued bus pass to ride an EMTA bus to and from school. Students can register through the district website: https://eriepac.scriborder.com/.
Please be advised that a new transportation request must be completed by all students, even if your child(ren) rode the bus in previous years.
CSE Students will utilize fixed routes available through the EMTA website. Students are encouraged to download the myStop Mobile app to plan routes and access schedule information.
Due to lowered capacity levels, buses may leave a stop without all students being loaded or may bypass a stop, however, additional supply buses will be dispatched to handle the additional students.
Students that are the first to board the bus will be seated at the rear of the bus, as additional students board the bus, they should fill in available seats working from the rear of the bus to the front of the bus.
Siblings or students residing in the same home should sit together when possible.
Please contact your home school's office or our district's Transportation Department at (814) 480-5908 if more information is needed.
Our middle school students (grades 6-8), who reside in the City of Erie and who live one and a half (1.5) miles or more from the Discovery Center, can register for an EMTA bus pass, using the link above. High school students (grades 9-12) who reside in the City of Erie and live two (2) miles or more from their school can also register for an EMTA bus pass.
For additional information, check out the Transportation Information FAQs or contact the Director of Pupil Services, Chris Fortin, at (814) 480-5908.
The majority of student transportation for those students that reside in Erie's Public Schools District is provided by the EMTA. Erie's Public Schools District also provides yellow school bus service as required by law for Special Education students when a student's IEP requires. Bus schedules are available by clicking here.
Below you will find several phone numbers for school district transportation offices. Some county school districts have forms that you will have to fill out if you need transportation for your child. You will need to return the forms to the school district of residence directly. If you have any questions about transportation from your district of residence, and want your child to receive transportation, you will have to arrange that on your own as the Charter School of Excellence is unable to do that for you.

Why does the district contract with EMTA for transportation instead of providing yellow bus service for students?
The EPS district has been contracting with EMTA for many years to provide bus service to students because the district receives a higher rate of reimbursement from the Commonwealth of PA for this type of contracted service. Each year, EMTA works with the district to develop routes that meet student transportation needs to and from school.
